i have a dream
and it is to own one of these old ice cream trucks from the 60s and have a little summer business.
maybe it's that old feeling i get when i see an ice cream truck, of being a little girl with sunburned cheeks and sand in my hair with my sweaty change clenched tightly in my fist, just waiting for the moment when the ice cream truck finally stops on my corner so i can purchase my strawberry shortcake.
maybe it's the wacky entrepreneur in me that doesn't ever want to get a "real" job.
maybe the heat has just gone to my head today.
who knows, but today, i really, really want to be an ice cream lady!!!

those are brilliant!! i love sir softy, such spiffy personality! i think my dream is about eating all the ice cream...heheh...

Hi,
We have one in our neighborhood (London)...vintage...old...Mr. Whippy...that plays 'It's Now or Never' by Elvis in ice cream truck type music! It's sooo ace, you'd love it!

Hi.. I feel a little funny leaving a message as I don't really know you. heh. But I look at your clothing every single day!
Anyhoo, just wanted to express both my glee and jealousy upon seeing those ice cream truck pics.I live in Quebec, and sadly, we don't have ice cream trucks. What we do have here are these Knife-Sharpening Trucks, that go around with a jaunty bell, ready to sharpen your knives. Every time I hear the jingle I run to the window, hoping "maybe this time!" then my husband laughs at me! oh well. lovely photos.

This is amazing! I have this very same dream and have actually researched pricing on those lil' ice cream bikes with the freezer attached. I think being the ice cream man would be awesome! Have a great day, Jenny.

There was an awesome story on NPR a few weeks back about a guy who wrote a whole bunch of new ice cream truck music. http://216.35.221.77/templates/story/story.php?storyId=10810961

Oh I love it. For serious -- I've had the same thought, only instead of ice cream I'd want to trick it out in aqua, cream and orange and sell baked goods -- cupcakes, whoopie pies, giant cookies, brownies and blondies, all of that stuff.
It couldn't cost more than opening a storefront or booth, right? And again, I am so glad to hear/see someone with the same dream.

ok... no joke, really~
i too share this dream! he comes by my house every night and i sit there with envy in my eyes, someday hoping to own my own ice cream truck
my dream....
pink, orange, melon, sherbet, raspberry and yellow glossy plolka dots on a lime-citron green truck. my decals would be on the door inside large glossy orange dots.
with the saying "so yummy... ice cream makes me smile" on the door
ahh... if i could only afford the white little jeep for 2900.00 with new speakers that has 23 different ice cream jingles and 12 animal sounds!
what a dream!
instead i guess i will have to continue to look at the ice cream cart that i got for my wedding. :>)
