it only took 16 years
i am a huge fan of twin peaks. i watched it religiously when it first aired back in 1990, and i've managed to catch marathon weekends of it on bravo throughout the years. i finally scooped up the first season on dvd when i found it used at the record store a while ago. i even had them look into the whereabouts of season two, only to find out that it was never released. what? never released?!
well imagine my delight to find out that now, some 16 years later, the studio peeps have finally answered my prayers. (or, apparently, david lynch wanted the film to look pristine before it was released to dvd, so he's been cleaning the negatives all this time?) at any rate: season two is out, and available through my trusty netflix.

so that's what matt and i have been doing lately. for weeks. working our way through season two, which, i must tell you is no where NEAR as amazing as season one: really bad/cheesy story lines with james + donna, but they are made up for a little bit with quirky, funny ones like that of nadine + mike and norma + big ed. what's missing for me is crazy leland, and that whole mystery surrounding laura palmer and bob and all that goodness... if you watched this, you know what i am talking about, if you didn't, you must add twin peaks to your netflix queue, just don't watch fire walk with me until you've seen all of the television shows, mmmk?

the damn fine cuppa joes, donuts + cherry pies at the RR diner, the dancing man, the red carpets, the amazing, weird music, the great northern, one eyed jacks, crazy nadine and her silent drapes, creepy leo, bonehead bobby, leland palmer, the log lady, all the quirky plots and ahhhhhh the hottness that is dale cooper.

sigh.

For the love of Pete, he looks like a kid! It's only been a couple years since I watched season 1 of Twin Peaks, but I've watched a LOT of Sex and the City since then, so I guess Twin Peaks Kyle became slightly older looking in my mind too...
I'm so glad he's still older in those photos than I am now...otherwise I would have felt a little lecherous.

Lisa! I know it, he looks like a total baby (babe)
Not only do I love his character somethin' fierce in Twin Peaks, I just crush on ol' Kyle bigtime!
I did like him in SATC too, but he kinda creeps me on Housewives...
I was shocked as I was typing this entry earlier to find out that TP came out in NINETEEN NINETY.
wow. That makes ME feel old!

Oh I loved that show I used to watch it with my mother. I had forgotten all about that, although I never did find out who killed was it Laura. did I remeber that right. Too funny I will have to add that to my list of things to watch!

haha have you seen THIS:
http://ecomm.davidlynch.com/catalog/coffee.php
and now i just got sucked in reading triva on IMDB.com hahah. such as..
Kyle MacLachlan refused to further develop the storyline about his character Dale Cooper's relationship with Audrey Horne ( Sherilyn Fenn), because he found inappropriate that a honest FBI agent would have an affair with an underage girl.
What a guy!
..for some reason I was under the impression that david lynch had less to do with season two? Maybe that is why it lacks. I'm not positive though..

hahah ok here
'This series is notorious for having one of the most torrid productions in television history. Though a major cult phenomenon and a ratings smash in the first year, the series was abruptly canceled in its second season. Both Mark Frost and David Lynch attribute this to ABC's constant changing of the show's time slot, as well as the network insisting that the murderer of Laura Palmer be revealed. Lynch also was unable to focus his full attention on the show in its second year, as he was filming Wild at Heart (1990) at the time. After the Palmer murder was solved, ratings plummeted, and though Lynch returned to the series full time with the intention of further exploring the origins of Laura's killer, ABC canceled the series. The cable network BRAVO then tried to revive the show, even hiring 'David Lynch' to film new scenes for episodes in syndication. Still, audience interest waned. As of 2007, despite the release of the tie-in feature film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), high sales on DVD and several fan attempts to revive the series, David Lynch has resisted any attempt to do so.'

A definite perk to Season 2 is David Lynch himself as the hilarious and quirky Gordon Cole. "That's the kind of girl that makes you wish you spoke a little French" = brilliant!

omg! i know!!! I got the first season on DVD a few years ago. i was so excited when i heard the final season was coming out. it's weird that the pilot is a seperate DVD on its own too. the studios must have had quite a fight over releasing this show!
