brighter day
goodmorning, friends. did you notice the new banner today? did you know that it means that the shop is now open?! after a long day and very late night (i won't even tell you how late we stayed up, it was like the old days of frecklewonder, poor matt was stuck in the paypal sandbox testing the shopping cart for like, 2 hours, whadda nightmare).
i had been calling this shop update the "january update" and boy, did we make it in by the skin of our teeth! it's january 31st today. wow. it never ceases to amaze me how much work, brain bending, and time it takes for two regular ol' folks to build a web shop. one that's user friendly and pretty, where it's images line up and don't break, and where links take you to the correct place and quantities are updated correctly when an item is sold, and so,so many other things. none of this would be remotely possible without the brains behind what you see, and that's matt. a HUGE thanks to you, matt, for all the long hours that you work, and for busting out your amazing skills yet again. i love you to the moon and back a million zillion times infinity.
there are a couple things we are still working on, one of which being that when an item is sold, it will switch from the products name to actually say 'sold' as it has in the past (on the thumbnail shop pages)-- i know that before long, you guys will be driven crazy as you are attempting to cruise around and shop, only to find out that things are selling at a pretty fast clip. this will be fixed asap (for now, i am manually updating these items as they sell, which requires a bit of babysitting of the site, and eventually i will have to get up from this seat- but i am keeping a close eye and making these changes as best as i can). also, i am working on building the friends page, which is currently displaying nothing and making it look like i don't have any!!! those are the two main things i can think of at the moment. the good news is that there's an absolute TON of stuff. this is the first time that i have used a dress form to model all the stuff-- i hope that you guys find that the descriptions and pictures are plenty for you to get an item figured out. as always, if you see something and you have additional questions, give me a shout.
and on a different note, thank you so much to those of you who sent such nice, heartfelt comments to tuesday's post. we're all hanging in there, and it's really nice to know that you guys are sending good vibes, thoughts and prayers our way. i appreciate it more than you could know.

Jenny & Matt --
The shop looks amazing! I love the new banner & background colors. Very classy! I wish I was a bit smaller these days, because it was hard seeing your goodies' and not being able to buy all I loved. However, I snagged a shirt (which hopefully will fit), and am so happy to see 'Frecklewonder' back in action!

Great to see you back in action, both in the shop and on the blog. I really enjoy reading your posts. I just ordered a couple of things and I'm really excited!
I know you're limited by what's actually stocked, but will there be any possibility of more larges in the future? No big deal, but I'd love to participate in the magic of frecklewonder even more! I know you moved heaven and earth, no less Matt (by the way, Thanks Matt!) to get us this update and I'm super grateful.

Looks fantastic! I have the exact same white beaded purse you have for sale. It was my grannies but alas my kitty chewed into the handle so I don't use it. BOO!

The site looks gorgeous, you have put so much effort into the update and it really shows. I'm sorry to hear about your family and I hope everyone is pulling through okay.
Am I right in thinking that you don't ship to Australia? I guess I'll just drool over your items.
Also, the vintage posters that you have in the background of some of the pictures (like these shoes: http://www.frecklewonder.com/shop/111) do you find them in your op shops and the like? I love those old cars and find the old posters and advertisements a delight.

Congrats on the fabulous shop update and on the lil' "bun in the oven"!!
Quick question... When I click on the shop link from the home page... all I get are the coats? I didn't see any of the other stuff 'til I clicked on the link from the ShesABetty blog. (she has your red mod boots in her Vintage Finds... I just kept clicking next, to see more) Am I doing something wrong?
