happy 2008
henry and i went out for a milkshake yesterday and took a nice, long walk together around a very quiet downtown. most shops were closed, being that it was new year's eve, but a few of our favorite thrifts and antique stores remained open, much to our surprise + happiness.
i picked up a new/vintage camera for my collection, a happy apple for the baby's room (remember those red fisher price apples with the little jingle-bell inside, circa 1970s?), and a few other goodies from the thrift. but most of the afternoon was spent just walking around, snapping some pics, trying to learn more about my new(ish) camera (a nikon i've wanted for ages), and chatting with henry as he motored around the streets and alleys of our little downtown.
it's a quiet afternoon here at the house today, spending some time editing photos for the big re-opening of the shop, and just enjoying the last day of our amazing, looooooong 2 week holiday break together. matt was lucky enough to be off work for all this time too, a real treat for the 3 of us.
it's been nice.
