quiet as a churchmouse
today's lunch. pita with tuna + greens. clementine. chocolate soy. and a little brainstorming for the baby's room. i was all set on a color scheme and design, but now i find myself re-thinking things after flipping through all my old issues of martha baby. i know for sure that i don't want to go with the traditional all-pink look just because it's a girl. i'm actually thinking more on the minimalist, all white side of things. with a sweet little vintage twist. time will tell. i have a few projects on the brain: curtains, a patchwork playmat, and a few little personalized softies. i am trying to get myself geared up to make these things, but truth be told, i am having a kind of unmotivated week. and today in particular, i am just feeling sort of blah. maybe just tired? it hit me that the restless, broken nights of sleep might have arrived. suddenly, i find myself waking up a whole bunch just to get into a more comfortable position. my bump is in full effect and oy, vey and i have a little more than 3 months to go.
not much else to say today, sorry! hope to be back with something a little more exciting next time.

several of my friends who've recently been doing baby rooms have chosen various shades of orange and a sort of curry-ish yellow. SO great!
i know whatever you choose it'll have tons o' flair. we're all excited for you over here at UMS!

Planning the nursery is so exciting, isn't it? We're waiting to find out the sex so we can start buying things. :)

white with a vintage twist - now that sounds perfect
friends of ours did the same thing and it worked so well - clean, spacious but somehow, really homely and comfortable
can we see once the room's complete?

P.S. This is a favourite site of mine and it has some really inspirational ideas. If you have a couple of hours spare then this is the place to spend it! Just click in GALLERY - BEDROOMS - KIDS ROOMS.

i think the white minimalist is great! i have a 19 month old daughter and all her furniture was free. her crib was from my father-in-laws church and its antique & white and her dresser was given to us from a moving neighbor & we painted it white but because of the antique gold looking fixtures and all the imperfections, it looks very vintage/shabby chic kinda feel. a friend painted an old coffee cart shelf with her name and theres an antique unicorn lamp from my daughters great-grandmother. but i did stick with pink walls. all in all her room is girly/vintage-y. its my favorite and cheapest room in our house!

oh, planning the room! I did enjoy that aspect of pregnancy. martha stewart baby (and MS kids, for that matter) is like porn for pregnant moms. I've saved every issue.
can't wait to see what you do, friend. I just know it'll be a delight.
