and we wait

hello, friends. i'm sorry i've gone on so long without an update of any kind. it's been an exceptionally difficult two weeks or so for me around here, and it's safe to say that the only crying baby in my house right now is me. i really want to thank you all for the nice wishes, it means a lot to me.
i wish that i could reach out and hug you all. or send you all something nice in the mail. or take you out for a girly lunch. i appreciate you more than you know.
i've been stricken with a pretty awful case of THIS. and let me tell you, it sucks. basically, i haven't had any sleep at night and i am walking around the world like some sort of foggy headed zombie, getting increasingly grouchier as the days go on. sleep deprivation will do that to a person. i could handle waking up for night time feedings, NO PROBLEM, i just can't take this awful numbness and tingling for one more day. i literally wake up shortly after midnight, and can.not.go.back.to.sleep. at times, i can barely use my hands, my grip is so weakened from the daggone numb tinglies.
anyhow. this is a real lesson in patience for me. i probably should have never gotten myself excited in thinking that she would have been here by now. it doesn't help much to see that most of my lady friends online are snuggling their new babies. i know i sound like a Super Crank right now. i am really happy to see all these healthy, lovely little things, i really am. :) i just feel so anxious about my own that i could pop.
oh, and speaking of "pop". a word of advice to those non-pregnant folks out there: it is probably not the greatest choice to use the word "pop" when you are talking to a woman who is 40 weeks pregnant. you know, as in: "you look like you're 'bout ready to pop!". yeah. i'm just sayin.
while i'm sharing my two cents, may i offer a piece of advice for all you pregnant ladies out there: tell yourself that your baby is due two weeks after the date the doctor gives you, that way when you find yourself at the 40 week mark, you won't be counting every second and wondering why your baby seems to have lost the directions on how to get out of the womb. just get that later date in your mind and stick with it. you'll thank me for this, i promise.
in an effort to sort of brighten my world, and occupy my idle time, i made some totes and a small update to the shop. i have these items packaged and ready to ship. should my uterus decide to get in the game in the next day or two (fingers crossed), i have some lovely assistants on hand here to get the packages to the post office.

I have been thinking about you! Hope you do POP soon!!! You will adore that lovely little girly and forget all the bad stuff immediately, or well, at least soon...:-) Here's some labor dust for you **~~~^^"""***!

I was just thinking about you. I was near Charlottesville in the mountains this weekend visiting my Gram and wondered if you had your baby yet. Next time, I will have to get in touch so we can meet up perhaps. Good luck with the waiting, she'll be here before you know it ;)

I'm sitting here with my cell phone out, waiting to get the call from my best friend that it's time to go to the hospital. (I'm the birthing coach!) She's waiting, I'm waiting, and now I read that you are waiting too.
I hope none of us have to wait much longer!

Have a reflexologist stimulate your uterus via your feet to get the labor going! I had PUPPS ravaging my entire body, I understand crying for want of having the baby already. The reflexology should have you starting labor within 24 hours.
Good luck and some prayers that it's a smooth delivery. :-)

You poor thing! {{HUG}}
I was hoping when I saw a new post that your little one had arrived. I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time. It is so hard waiting, especially when you're in so much discomfort. I'm at 33 weeks with my twins and getting very impatient, but I know that I still have at least a month to go probably.
From one cranky pregnant lady to another, hang in there and try to stay positive! :)

Hang in there! I hope my baby isn't two weeks late, I'm counting down to my 40th week too, I only have about 3.5 weeks to go, fingers crossed!
You look beautiful BTW!

I really hope that little girly is on her way very soon, I can't wait to hear all about her and see her.
Sending you lots of love and hugs.

Dang!
I thought she'd arrived too!
Take it easy, pretty lady - and here's to a quick, safe and happy birth!
I totally snaffled those heels with the green bows from your shop, too - love em!
I hope all the waiting is over for you soon!
Good luck, and lots of best wishes to your family -

She'll be here soon...you are so lucky. I watch so many people snuggling their babies or who are about to give birth and I have yet to be able to stay pregnant for more than a few weeks. These are literally hours of your life that will soon be a memory; rest assured great things are on the way! And you look fabulous! May your carpel tunnel go away NOW or asap...you don't need any more stress!

Awww. Hang in there! What helps my hands is a bath in one of those home wax bath treatments. It sounds like it won't, but it does work wonders for the tingles and the loose grip. All the best to you! *Hugs*

It's so hard being pregnant, but it will all be over SO soon. You are doing a great job! My baby was eight days late and it took a lot of stair walking to get him out. People were constantly calling and emailing wanting news....it's funny because I was waiting too.... wanting some action. Happy birthing vibes from Tokyo OOXX

Good luck with all Jenny-Jen.
You and your belly look glorious! SO BEAUTIFUL! Sending you "quick and easy birthing" vibes from me and all the Cotton Monsters.....

oh jenny! first of all...you look beautiful! your bump looks amazing. i hope by now your little girl has joined you, if not i'm sure it will happen so soon and all these bad times will be forgotten and replaced with the joys of having a newborn! i had a really traumatic birth (after having planned a home water birth for months) due to a freaky, rare condition and thought at the time i would never get over it...but 3 weeks on and i can barely remember it. so hang in there babe! it'll be ok and over so soon. big hugs and wishes of peaceful childbirth...olivia xxx

Oh look at that big BEAUTIFUL stomach!!! Sending hugs your way. I had restless leg syndrome really bad towards the end, but doesn't sound like anything compared to carpal tunnel syndrome. :o( Here's hoping for a speedy delivery to make up for things!

You are HILARIOUS! Every word - VERY well put, especially about the "POP". Well, good luck with everything and hope to see some new baby pictures soon.

Jenny, only you could look so good with that huge belly and pregnancy carpel tunnel syndrome!
I feel for you and I wish I could make her arrive just like that - I am not going to tell you about my looong waits until this is all over...
Best wishes for all four of you!
love, lotta

oh jenny. this part is the absolute hardest, ain't no way around that. I had the carpal tunnel thing when I was carrying ezra. man, it is *no* fun. did they give you a wrist brace thing? did not help me in the least. prolly not gonna make you feel better, but you look absolutely beautiful.
can't wait to 'meet' that beautiful baby girl! thinking of you, friend. xoxo
Posted by: andrea | April 26, 2008 at 01:44 PM
Jenny I had a dream about you last night!! You had a boy, even though they said it was a girl. I'm sure that WON'T happen. Just a crazy dream. Isn't it funny when you dream about online friends? Anyway, I had/have carpal tunnel syndrome too. It came on pretty earlier in my pregnancy. At first it was just in my right hand, then it was both. I didn't sleep for a week, it was horrible. I got a wrist brace after the doc suggested it and it worked MIRACLES! No more sleepless nights! Wear one all day if you can and of course at night. I hope this helps! My carpal tunnel stayed after my pregnancy, but only in my right hand and it doesn't bother me at night anymore. I guess it's only a slight case? Anyway, i'm sending you and that baby GIRL good thoughts!

Oh you poor thing!! I can't believe you actually did an update on top of it all!! You are amazing!
Posted by: Val | April 28, 2008 at 11:18 AM
I feel your pain. I was never 40 weeks but during the last two weeks I heard the comments everyday at work in senior center. One lady even told me, "He is going to rip you up". AHH . I hoped every day that he would make his way out into the world. I totally remember the total lack of sleep and the looks from strangers hoping I did not deliver in their presence. I will say that Acupressure helped. If you have not tried it or want to I have some instructions. Good Luck.

it must be here!! best wishes with it all!

[/delurking] I hope all goes well. Better late than too early... And my dear, you look beautiful! Where are the veins and stretchmarks and ...?

First off, I'm hoping that you've "popped" but you wishing you a very safe and wonderful baby and hoping you are cuddling her now.
And secondly, that Raggedy Anne tote is the best. Raggedy rocks!

Dear Jenny!
I'm 5 days after my expected date. I understand exactly how you feel....
I have two friends that were expecting and were around my dates and the 2 of them already gave birth... I'm so tired of answering the questions (of nice and caring people - I know...) on how long we are going to drag it...
This only pushes my buttons and makes me edgy.
Especially my brother gives me the nerves with a daily SMS like this - "Am I an uncle already?"
Take good care of yourself, try to sleep!!!
Wishing you short wait and quick healthy labor!
You look wonderful!!
XOXO

I am sooooooo sorry to hear all this news. I have been out of the loop and I am just so sad that you are suffering so much. I also want to thank you for all your kind words. I am sorry that I am one of the ladies snuggling my new baby but believe me we have had it rough here this last week too. Memphis has been really, really sick and we were very worried. We get the results from all the tests they did on her today but we think it was probably just some kind of flu. It was so very scary. She had a fever for 4 days, throwing up, coughing, and just no energy at all. She lost a bit of weight and looked just awful. Finally she is feeling better, talking, eating a bit and walking around. She may even get to go to school today. Anywho...here is wishing you a gorgeous brand new girl to hold asap. xoxo :) My thoughts are wish you...to bad I can't do more than that. xo
