an update on this update!

i am going to play it safe and say that i'm not going to make the 4:00 deadline... henry will be home in T-minus 10, and usually that is the crazy hour of the day... so. just to be realistic, I am going to say 9:30 tonight- i hope that isn't too late for you if you've been waiting... i really want to just include everything in one update, and i still have photos to edit and add, descriptions to write and ya'll with kids know how it goes... pretty soon i will have to break for dinner/bath/bedtime, but i will return to work at 8 and get this sucker posted! ok?

i am working fast + furious over here, thank goodness for long baby naps and nice sun- i've been getting some last minute photos taken and i have some photo editing yet to do... if i get delayed, i'll keep you posted, but so far so good! XO

all remaining coats (plus one tote!) from the southern rose collection are on sale today and tomorrow- marked down 30%. i have one last small shop update of the year that i'm hoping to post to the shop by wednesday and would love to see these coats find a new home by then!!! there are some sweet deals to be had, so do take a look!

shop update tomorrow

a small collection of gorgeous vintage coats + a handful of vintage granny totes and cocktail clutches are finally ready- the southern rose collection will be in the shop tomorrow at noon EST. that's 9 am for you west coasters, and for the rest of the world- i have a feeling it might be in the middle of the night? anyhow, timing it for all corners of the globe is next to impossible, so 12 noon EST it is. i hope that works.

on a personal note: this collection proved to be one of the more difficult ones for me to put together, even though it's significantly smaller than most before it. a combination of obstacles (weather, bad light, colds, holidays, life), but the biggest probably being the fact that i R-O-C-K at setting unrealistic goals for myself. i mean, i am so good at it, it's crazy. it's like i forget that i have a busy 19 month old running around or something? file this one under I Try To Do Too Much At One Time/I ain't quite what I used to be. I nearly lost my mind trying to get it all together, thinking that it was actually reasonable to toss kids and coats and accessories into the car and head out the door for like, just an ordinary day doing some on location photo shoot, when truth be told, ain't nothin' ordinary about that. mama has a crazy job, that's what i tell mister henry. two pieces of good news though: 1) i didn't toss the coats into a big bonfire pit in the back yard and light them afire like i threatened to (i know, crazy), and 2) my kids are incredibly patient and tolerant (and so is my hubby) and when i got super discouraged, they rallied behind me and said, mama, you can do this. just buy us an ice cream cone when we're out and about and we'll be just fine. 

so. there you have it. for what it's worth.

*ETA: further proof that i am losing my mind: i received an email inquiry from a lovely girl named JESS and i replied with "HI MARGARET!"

she kindly replied, "Hi Jenny, it's Jess here (not Margaret - I have been called a lot of names, but Margaret is not one them - lol)"

those pesky elements

so i have this rack of fantastic (and i mean FANTASTIC) vintage coats that i am just itching to get photo'd and in the shop for you but darn it if the outdoors are just not cooperating with me. it's either gorgeous and sunny yet windy as all get out or it's grey and dark, thus making it impossible to take lovely, crisp photos of these stunners.

what to do!? i hope to get them added to the shop this week. there are wool coats, faux + real fur coats, a couple snazzy rain coats and a cape or two.

first frost :: part 2

another batch of 100 (yes, 100!!!) items are being prepped for the shop. i mentioned that i had collected a ton of stuff for fall, and i wasn't kiddin' ya'll!

lots more wooly, tweedy, sparkly, paisley print, floral, dotted, pretty things for fall. and coats! more coats, too.

heya kids. check it. i just marked a whole buncha things on sale, would love to move these things along because i just have more, more, more waiting in the wings! the freckle closets and clothing racks are stuffed. i am beginning to add some new things to the shop this week, but lordy loo- will you please help me make some room?! there are some super sweet deals to be had. and i'm not done with the sale, so please check in tomorrow when more will be marked down!
